On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed a bill into law that had two especially important words in its title. It was called the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Those first two words quickly fell out of use – and sadly for good reason. Patients are not being protected, and one can make a strong case that the word “Affordable” is not fitting, either.
Employers are the key to solving this problem, for working class Americans, yet most could care less. They offer cheap medical plans with high deductibles & crappy copayments. Employers are part of the problem. There are a few that have figured this out, but most simply don't care.
